MEA doesn’t stand with facts

The Michigan Education Association website www.KidsNotCeos.com is sponsoring ads on Facebook that claim Gov. Rick Snyder has made massive cuts impacting public schools. Here is what they say about Dearborn:

But that’s not accurate. In fact, Deaborn’s schools have received about $12 million more under Gov. Snyder’s administration, according to the Michigan Department of Education’s State Aid Financial Status Report.

Dearborn City School District received $128.7 million in state funds in 2011-12 for 18,978 students. Dearborn City School District received $140.4 million in state funds in 2013-14 for 19,506 students.

The union has a reputation for using the word "cut" in ways very different than normal people.
