Billboard: Whitmer Dissed People With ‘One Rule For Others And A Different One For Themselves’

A Michigan businessman who owns an Indiana radio station has been lampooning Gretchen Whitmer during the COVID pandemic with billboards making fun of the Michigan governor.

Steve Swick posted on his Facebook page a photo of his latest Indiana billboard. It features a doctored photo of Whitmer with a Pinocchio nose and a statement she made in January: “I can’t stand those people that have one rule for others and a different one for themselves.”

Whitmer was caught in a photo published, by Breitbart News earlier this month, violating executive orders she issued by exceeding indoor table capacity limits at an East Lansing restaurant.

Whitmer issued an apology. This is not the only instance of Whitmer violating emergency orders.

The quote on the billboard is from an interview Whitmer gave to Rick Albin of WOOD-TV in January.

“I have been following the same directives I’ve asked everyone else to. I can’t stand those people that have one rule for others and a different one for themselves,” Whitmer said in that interview.

Swick, who is from Coldwater, is president and CEO of Swick Broadcasting in Angola, Indiana.

“Michigan Governor made the Big Boards for the Memorial Weekend, I-69 / 80/90 Tollroads Angola, Indiana,” Swick posted May 28 on his Facebook page.
