The average public sector salary in Michigan has increased every year since 2001, going from $36,405 in 2001 to $53,551 in 2017, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Adjusting for inflation, the average Michigan public sector salary was $50,387 in 2001 and rose to $53,551 in 2017. The salaries include all government positions, such as teachers, college professors, Post Office employees as well as seasonal laborers.
